About Elise

Elise Poché is a photographer who recently returned to her native Mobile after living in Charleston, SC for the past ten years. She spent the previous three years working as a Photography Studio Manager for a commercial studio in Charleston. Before returning to Mobile, she traveled to Africa where she lived for three months working on her documentary portfolio. She visited Kenya, Rwanda, Madagascar and South Africa. She is now living in Mobile, planning her next trip abroad and working freelance here in the meantime. She shoots for a variety of clients ranging from editorial to commercial. She is also a regular contributor to Mobile Bay Monthly.

Poché also has a rich history in using her photos to raise awareness and therefore money for charities in need. Her photos of Hurricane Katrina led to a photo show that raised $5,000 for the St. Bernard Project, a non-profit volunteer program that rebuilds homes for Katrina victims. She is also involved with Diakonia Compassionate Ministries in Kisumu, Kenya which is a program that helps special needs children, widows, the elderly and also has a crisis relief response program. She is hoping to soon get involved with a Cheetah Conservation Program.
